FINAS – Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional Malaysia

Info: FINAS (Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional Malaysia) or the Malaysian Film Development Board is an agency under the Ministry of Information, Communication & Culture. Its objective is to promote, maintain, and facilitate film production development in Malaysia.

It is the licensing body for Lesen Pengeluaran Filem (Film Production), Pengedaran Filem (Film Distribution) and Pameran Filem (Film Exhibition). FINAS also provides technical support services that include audio & video post-production facilities, rental of sound stage, hiring of film-making equipment and a theatrette.

The FINAS headquarters complex is located on the site of the historical Merdeka Studio, built originally in 1961, during the golden era of the local film and cinema industry.
