Kuala Selangor Fireflies Park In Kampung Kuantan

Info: Kuala Selangor Fireflies Park (Taman Kelip Kelip) is a purpose-built boat boarding area or jetty for tourists. The complex has an information counter, ticketing counter, washrooms and ample parking. The boat rides on Sungai Selangor river are operated from 7 pm onwards every night. The fireflies can be seen glowing or flickering on trees appearing like lighted Christmas trees on the riverbanks. Photography by flash is prohibited and it is too dim to try anyway. Please observe rules as excessive noise and disturbances may diminish the firefly colony which is a rare wonder of nature.

Tickets are about RM 15 for adults and RM 9 for a child. Prices may change though. Remember to insist on a life jacket or vest before boarding the sampan.

Before or after the night river cruise , you may also like to try the seafood at the fishing village in Pasir Penampang. You may also want to check out the Silver Leaf monkeys at Bukit Malawati hill and visit Auntie’s Kopitiam in Kuala Selangor town for food.

When exiting from the KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway or LATAR, drive stright until you reach Bukit Rotan. You will see the majestic Sri Shakti Hiinu Temple at the junction. You may want to stop to view the temple from outside. The famous Cendol Bakar drive-thru at Kampung Assam Jawa is further up.

Opposite the temple, turn right into Jalan Kelab where the the Royal Kampung Kuantan Golf Club is located. Then drive on the very long and straight road until the next T-junction. The Firefly Park is facing the junction. Try to do the driving before nightfall as it will get tricky after dark.

There is accommodation nearby in chalets at the Firefly Park Resort in Bukit Belimbing on the opposite side of the river.
