Yik Mun’s Hainanese Chicken Chop

Info: Yik Mun was a popular pau shop (Chinese steam buns) located near the old bus station in Tanjung Malim town. Buses and taxis used to stop there on its journey on the old trunk road before the stopover town was bypassed by the NSE. It was established in 1926 but has now opened in this new location and reinvented itself as a restaurant serving halal Hainanese cuisine. Popular dishes include Hainenese chicken chop and local dishes.

If you are using the old trunk road, coming from Rawang and the Kuala Kubu Baru junction, Yik Mun is at the traffic light junction to your right, as you reach Tanjung Malim town. It is the corner shop painted red or crimson visible from the main road. You need to turn right (into the road to Proton City) and make a legal u-turn after a Chinese temple. Parking is in front or on the side of the shop.
