Historically, Singapore’s and Malaysia’s currency started off on par. With current exchange rates, hotels in Singapore are no longer affordable to the average Malaysian. Old time favourites of Malaysian visitors such as the YMCA is now about RM 460 and the RELC is RM 350 a night.
Budget Hotels In Singapore

I am making this list of hotels which are under RM 250 a night. Prices may change and offers no longer in place in future. Please check rates and book early. Although Singapore has many hotels, rooms can be impossible to find when there is a big show or event in town, The list may be useful for those going for a rock concert or a trade exhibition. You must know where to look. Some can still be had for as low as RM 43. Look for hostels as capsule and pod accommodation are more expensive in Singapore.

Or you may be one of many Indonesians or Thais going there for weekend shopping. Even if you are a Singaporean, bookmark this list as eventually someone will ask you: Where to find cheap hotels?
Sekinchan in Selangor attracts many visitors because of its beautiful paddy landscape. Avoid going around June or December if you want to see green crops instead of brown and bare land and freshly harvested fields. There is also plenty of open burning as the land is cleared for replanting. It is worth staying overnight when you go during the right season. Find a hotel from the links below. Hotels include the nearby ones in Sungai Besar, also in the Sabak Bernam area.

Many people also go for the many seafood restaurants at the fishing villages on the coast and also to enjoy the breeze at Pantai Redang beach. There is a popular wishing tree at a temple. Inside the vast paddy fields you will also find a Chinese temple and a rice factory with rice bags for sale and a rice growing information centre.

Note: Two unusual hotels such as The House Of Cartoons and Farm Ville Cafe and Homestay Container Hotel are not included as they are not signed with Agoda at this time. Will add them should they come on board. There is also a very nice new VI Boutique Hotel in Pasir Penambang, also not with Agoda as yet. Alternatively, if you want a better hotel, you may want to consider De Palma Hotel Kuala Selangor, a short drive from Sekinchan. Also check out APPS Hotel in Pasir Penampang Kuala Selangor.
This post will be made a sticky to make it easier for new users to find the hotel booking page. Contact info on bottom of this post.

Sometimes the search boxes may not load or work properly on certain mobile devices. If you encounter that, use the manual text links below:
You can also find a link to the booking and hotel search page at the sidebar where a link says “Search & Book A Room” on every page of this site – with the exception of this page. At the landing page, you can also see testimonials from satisfied users. You can also find a hotel by using the search box and text links on the right hand sidebar of every page. Type the hotel name or city or area and click the blue square to search over 1 million hotels, many with discounts.
