Info: The new KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway or LATAR Expressway connects the district of Gombak, in the east of Selangor, to the district of Kuala Selangor on the west coast. The 33-km highway offers an alternative and quicker way to get to the popular tourist places in Kuala Selangor. The Kampung Kuantan Fireflies Park (Kompleks Pelancongan Kelip-Kelip) and Bukit Malawati are now easier to get to from KL.

The LATAR Expressway, which forms part of the Kuala Lumpur Outer Ring Road (KLORR), will be toll-free from now until 31st August 2011.

Where to enter and exit the highway: From Selayang, head towards Rawang via the old trunk road. The entry ramp is just after the Commonwealth Forest Park (Taman Rimba Komanwel), to your left.

At the other end, you exit left to the old road leading to Kampung Kuantan Fireflies Park (Taman Kelip Kelip), Kuala Selangor Town (16km from this junction), Sekinchan and Lumut. Turning right at the junction will take you to Ijok and Bestari Jaya (formerly Batang Berjuntai).

In-Between: To get to Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam or KLIA in Sepang, join the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE) via Exit 2506A. To go to Ipoh or Kuala Lumpur (via NKVE Duta exit) join the North-South Expressway (NSE) via Exit 2506B. These two exits/entry points form the Kuang Interchange.

Further up, westbound travelers can also use the Puncak Alam Interchange via Exit 2503 to get to Kota Puteri, Kundang, Puncak Alam or Sg Buloh.
